ECFI Uniform Policy

We have surveyed parents, students and staff about our uniform policy. From the survey responses, we learned the following:

  • The majority of parents requested that we continue to have a uniform

  • Most parents, staff members, and students agreed that the uniform policy was beneficial and easy to understand

  • Some students, staff members and a few parents felt the uniform policy took up too much time to enforce 

After reviewing these findings and discussing the results in our SIAC/PTA meeting, a decision has been made:

ECFI will continue to have uniforms, but the policy will be modified. 

We hope this will make your experience purchasing uniforms easier and less expensive. We appreciate your support and willingness to help our students understand the value of continuing our uniform policy. We value your feedback and participation as members of our ECFI family!

The following rules will continue:

  • Tops - Polo shirts in Red, White, or Navy Blue only. No logos, emblems, decals or designs on them. No button up cotton shirts.  

  • Winter Weather- Long Sleeve shirts may be worn underneath Polo Shirts. The polo shirt collar must be displayed over the top of the undershirt.

  • Sweaters / Sweatshirts / Jackets- If hoodies or jackets are used by students to cause distraction or act out during class, teachers may ask them to remove it during class or wear something different in the future.

  • Bottoms- Pants/shorts/skirts, skorts, jumpers, or capris can be cotton, polyester, or twill material only.  No sweats, stretchy, fleece, or athletic fabric material is allowed.   Solid navy blue or tan/ khaki are required bottom colors.   Slimmer  style  / not skinny may be worn. Tights and leggings may not be worn as pants. The length of shorts for boys and girls must fall between the bottom of the fingertip and the middle of the knee. Girls may wear shorts under their skirts or jumpers.  These shorts may be any color but should not be readily visible during normal wear.  Girls may wear leggings or tights (not pajama pants) under their shorts, skorts, skirts, or jumpers.  

The following rules will change:

  • Winter Weather- Long Sleeve shirts may be any color or design as long as they are worn under an appropriate uniform shirt.

  • Sweaters / Sweatshirts / Jackets- There is not a required color or design for hoodies, sweatshirts, and jackets worn in or out of class as long as they are appropriate and not used by the student to cause a distraction.

  • Bottoms- Jean, corduroy, cargo pocket, and jogger-style pants and shorts are all permitted if they are the correct navy blue or tan/khaki color. Slimmer style/skinny style pants are permitted if they are not overly tight and not made of tights/legging materials. Leggings or tights worn under skirts, skorts, shorts, or jumpers can be any color.

  • Hats / Beanies - May be worn indoors. As per new district guidelines. As long as there are no offensive logos on the hat.
